This is an informative design project in which I worked with the world-famous David Caneso, of the Caneso family fame.
Our goal was to design a poster that informed the public of something. Our focus, for this project, was to do something related to government missile spending and how it effects us taxpayers.
We display 5 of the most common missiles as well as their specs, then outline their costs in several different fashions. Notice how little an individual pays for the missiles over his/her lifetime. It's less than you probably thought. So, since it's such a tiny amount, what else could it go for that would be more productive than missiles? These things are outlined on the right-hand side of the design.
In terms of details, this poster is 66" (5 feet, 6 inches) wide, 30" tall. Yes, it's freaking humungous, but we needed it to be large to have effect.
This is not a design set out to tell people how evil the government is. If you read, that you're mistaken. Rather, this is meant to simply question the spending habits of the administration. David and I don't particularly like weaponry, and think it's a waste of money. Don't comment on this letting me know how I've unsheathed the evils of the government, you hipster dufus.
It's funny really and also on a serious note how true this is. When the world could be spendng it's money on more productive things we indirectly are spending it on the things that will most likely lead to our destruction.
Awesome poster! I'm in the middle of a very similar project for uni, so thanks for the inspiration. Been pretty confused as to the different ways of presenting information
