Artist's Comments

An exercise in anti-design.

The client needs an invite for a party where students get to skip out of a whole day of school and go to the beach. The students, however, are in 6th grade. So how do you appeal to them and get them interested? You speak their language.

This invite is a poster (seen on the right) which is delivered in a folded format (seen on the left in steps). The fold is similar to a traditional folded piece of notebook paper, oftentimes used to deliver secret notes to classmates (ie, "I think Billy is cute," and "The teacher smells").

Special thanks to my little brother for helping with the illustrations.

Notebook paper would be a bit thin and week for this, it could rip fairly easily.

Good design, better delivery. Slick. Smart thinking.

Only thing I'd say beyond that is to make sure to play with folding a printed copy and make sure the folds don't land somewhere that make any of the smaller text hard to read, depending on how important the fine print is ;)

envious/impressed :)
